Have you ever been told you are not a candidate for Invisalign?
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, meaning they won’t affect your appearance during treatment. Invisalign is also more comfortable to wear than metal braces, as there are no brackets or wires to rub against your gums or cheeks. In addition, Invisalign treatment is faster and more efficient than traditional braces, often taking half the time to achieve the same results. Invisalign is a comfortable and convenient treatment option that allows patients to eat the foods they love and brush and floss their teeth with ease. If you’re looking for a straighter, healthier smile without the discomfort or inconvenience of metal braces, Invisalign may be the right choice for you.
Some of the other benefits include:
Comfortable, removable plastic aligners
No food restrictions
Minimal pain
Few changes to daily routine
Guaranteed results
Minimally visible
WHO’S A CANDIDATE?
Because Invisalign treatment is customized for each individual patient, Invisalign can be used to treat a wide range of orthodontic issues, including overcrowding, overbite, underbite, and excessive gapping. Requirements for Candidates:
Ability to abstain from dark beverages like coffee, tea, and red wine
Fully commit to wearing aligners for 20-22 hours each day
Do not have severe under or overbite issues
Do not grind or clench your teeth
Are an older teenager or adult
THE PROCEDURE (watch the video about)
Invisalign’s aligners are custom-made for each individual patient and are designed to move teeth a little bit at a time. Invisalign treatment typically lasts for about a year, though this can vary from patient to patient.
During an initial consultation, the doctor will determine if the patient is an ideal candidate for Invisalign. If so, the doctor will create a 3-D mold of the patient’s mouth using x-rays, pictures, and impressions. From these resources, a personalized treatment plan is created that charts the movement of the patient’s teeth and determines the length of treatment.
As a next step, a custom set of soft BPA-free plastic aligners is designed specifically for the individual and a treatment plan is implemented. Patients switch out their aligners every two weeks, ensuring that the teeth continue to straighten according to the plan. From then on, the patient will come back about every 6 six weeks to check up on progress. Invisalign treatment is an effective way to straighten teeth without noticeable metal brackets or wires.
